THURSDAY MAY 6TH 6:30
WE ARE IN FOR A SPECIAL TREAT AT THIS THURSDAY'S CLASS WHICH IS BEING TAUGHT BY CINDY PERRY'S GRANDMA, LAURA LEE. AS WE ARE ALL AWARE, LAURA IS A VERY REMARKABLE LADY WHO POSSESSES MANY TALENTS. SHE PRESENTED ME WITH A BRIEF PERSONAL HISTORY OF HER LIFE WHICH I FELT NEEDED TO BE SHARED WITH EVERYONE. (CLICK ON THE ICON IN MY EMAIL). LAURA IS VERY PROUD OF HER INDIAN HERITAGE AND WILL BE TEACHING US THE MEANING OF SYMBOLS. SHE WILL PERFORM AN INDIAN CEREMONY WHICH WILL INCLUDE PLAYING HER INDIAN DRUM AND LEADING US IN AN INDIAN MEDITATION.
LAURA IS ASKING EVERYONE TO BRING A PERSONAL ENDEARMENT THAT CAN FIT IN THE HAND. IT COULD BE A FAMILY HEIRLOOM LIKE A GRANDMOTHER'S BROACH, A STONE, FEATHER ETC. ANYTHING THAT HOLDS A SPECIAL MEANING. THIS IS GOING TO BE A GREAT CLASS THAT I THINK WILL ENJOY AND BENEFIT FROM. GUESTS ARE VERY WELCOME. SPREAD THE WORD.

"Many women today feel a sadness we cannot name. Though we accomplish much of what we set out to do, we sense that something is missing in our lives and -fruitlessly - search "out there" for the answers. What's often wrong is that we are disconnected from an authentic sense of self"

FRIDAYS CLASS TO BE POSPONED
I HAD SCHEDULED A CLASS THIS FRIDAY DEALING WITH THE TRAGIC DEATH OF MY SISTER, JANIEL WHO ENDED HER LIFE LAST AUGUST. WE AS A FAMILY HAVE DECIDED TO GET TOGETHER THIS WEEKEND TO REMEMBER OUR MOM AND SISTER AND WORK ON THE HEALING PROCESS OF LOSING SOMEONE SO CLOSE TO OUR HEARTS. AS I DO FEEL THAT THESE ISSUES NEED TO BE ADDRESSED, I WILL RESCHEDULE AT A LATER DATE.
AT THE TIME OF MY SISTER'S DEATH, MY FRIENDS GAVE ME A TREE WHICH VAL AND I PLANTED IN A MEMORY GARDEN THAT WE HAVE CREATED IN OUR YARD FOR LOVED ONES WHO HAVE PASSED. IT IS HERE WHERE WE FIND SOLICE AND COMFORT. I LOVE YOU JANIEL AND THINK ABOUT YOU EVERYDAY. YOUR SISTER, PEGGY

THANKS AMY
MANY THANKS TO MY DAUGHTER, AMY WHO TRAVELED WITH HER FAMILY FROM NORTH OGDEN TO TEACH A CLASS ON END OF LIVE ISSUES AS SHE WORKED FOR HOSPICE FOR FIVE YEARS. THIS EXPERIENCE HAS GIVEN HER INCREDIBLE INSIGHT INTO HER OWN MORTALITY AND SPIRITUALITY. SHE SAID THAT SHE NOTED IN MOST CASES THAT THE PEOPLE WHOS PASSINGS WERE PEACEFUL POSSESSED A DEEP SENSE OF THEIR OWN SPIRITUALITY REGARDLESS OF THEIR RELIGIOUS OR NON-RELIGIOUS VIEWS. SHE SAID THAT DEATH IS MANY TIMES VIEWED AS A TABOO SUBJECT BUT BY OPENING UP AND DISCUSSING IT, IT CAN BE EXPREMELY REWARDING AND HEALING. SHE FOUND THAT MOST PATIENTS AT THE END OF THEIR LIVES WANT TO DISCUSS THE ISSUES OF DYING BUT THAT FAMILY MEMBERS AND FRIENDS ARE AFRAID TO BRING IT UP. AMY SAYS THAT AFTER HAVING THE EXPERIENCE OF BEING WITH SOMEONE AT THEIR TIME OF DEATH HAS MADE HER NOT AFRAID OF DYING AND ABSOLUTELY BELIEVES THAT "LIFE GOES NO".
AS MANY PEOPLE WERE OUT OF TOWN FOR THE EASTER WEEKEND, I WOULD LIKE TO REPEAT THIS CLASS AT A FUTURE DATE. I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY COMMENTS OR FEEDBACK ON THIS BLOG. THANKS, PEGGY
