FRIDAY APRIL 2ND 6:30
MY DAUGHTER, AMY IS AN RN WHO HAS WORKED IN SEVERAL AREAS OF THE NURSING PROFESSION FOR THE PAST 19 YEARS. SHE IS A CERTIFIED HOSPICE AND PALLIATIVE CARE NURSE AND PRACTICED IN THE HOSPICE FIELD FOR 5 YEARS. DURING THIS TIME SHE ASSISTED NUMEROUS PATIENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES DEAL WITH THE PROCESS AND ACCEPTANCE OF DYING. WHILE OBSERVING THIS LIFE PROCESS IN OTHERS, SHE BECAMED AWARE OF THE MANY COMMON EXPERIENCES THAT DYING PATIENTS EXPERIENCE. SHE ALSO CAME TO REALIZE THAT THE HEALTH OF A PERSON'S "SPIRIT" OR "SOUL" WAS VERY INSTRUMENTAL IN HOW THEY COPED WITH DEATH AND ACTUALLY PASSED AWAY. SHE SAYS SHE FOUND THAT THERE IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RELIGION AND SPIRITUALITY AND THAT EVEN THE VERY "RELIGIOUS" PATIENTS OFTEN TIMES HAD A DIFFICULT TIME WITH THE DEATH AND DYING PROCESS IF THEY HAD NOT ACTUALLY FACED THEIR SPIRITUALITY.
AMY SAYS THAT WORKING IN THE HOSPICE PROGRAM WAS THE MOST SATISFYING AND INSIGHTFUL OF ANY JOB SHE HAS HAD. IN THIS CLASS AMY WILL BE DISCUSSING HER HOSPICE EXPERIENCES, TAKING CARE OF A LOVED ONE AND THE DEATH AND DYING PROCESS. AS SHE IS TRAVELING FROM OGDEN, THIS CLASS WILL BE HELD ON FRIDAY NIGHT, APRIL 2ND.
ABOUT ME
My vision is to provide opportunities to help empower women by offering classes on spiritual wellness, health, finances, relationships and meditation. Through sharing the vast knowledge and kindred spirits of others, along with myself, I know this is possible.

"Many women today feel a sadness we cannot name. Though we accomplish much of what we set out to do, we sense that something is missing in our lives and -fruitlessly - search "out there" for the answers. What's often wrong is that we are disconnected from an authentic sense of self"

THANKS JAN
JAN DID A FABULOUS JOB TEACHING US ABOUT CARING FOR OUR HOUSEPLANTS AND ALSO PROVIDED TIPS FOR CREATING AND MAINTAINING A BEAUTIFUL LANDSCAPE. SHE ALSO TAUGHT US HOW TO CREATE A "HORSE MANURE TEA" THAT PLANTS THRIVE ON. MARGE, MEREDITH AND I ARE GOING TO GET TOGETHER AND TRY IT. I APPRECIATE JAN TAKING HER TIME TO PREPARE AND TEACH THIS CLASS AS SHE DROVE FROM HURRICANE, UTAH IN A SNOW STORM IN ORDER TO BE HERE. THANKS AGAIN JAN AND ALSO THANKS TO EVERYONE ELSE WHO HAS GIVEN THEIR TIME AND EFFORT IN TEACHING THESE CLASSES. IF ANYONE ELSE IS INTERESTING IN TEACHING A CLASS OR KNOWS SOMEONE INTERESTED IN DOING SO, LET ME KNOW. THANKS, PEGGY

"PREPARING YOUR YARD FOR SUMMER" THURSDAY MARCH 18TH 6:30
PREPARING THE SOIL
PLANTING FROM SEEDS
TIPS ON GARDENING
FERTILIZING
CARE OF INSIDE HOUSE PLANTS
I AM EXCITED ABOUT THIS THURSDAY'S CLASS WHICH IS GOING TO BE TAUGHT BY MY SISTER-IN-LAW, JAN MIDDLETON. JAN HAS ALWAYS HAD A GREEN THUMB WITH BOTH INSIDE AND OUTSIDE PLANTS. SHE AND HER HUSBAND, VIC MOVED FROM SALT LAKE CITY TO NEOLA A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO. AS THEY ARE AVID HORSE LOVERS THEY PURCHASED SOME PASTURE ACERAGE AND MOVED A HOME ONTO IT. AS YOU CAN SEE FROM ABOVE PHOTOS, THEY HAVE COMPLETELY TRANSFORMED THE LANDSCAPE, FRONT AND BACK WITH A WILD FLOWER LOOK. MOST OF THE PLANTS HAVE BEEN STARTED FROM SEED OR TRANSPLANTED.
JAN HAS ALSO WORKED IN THE FLORAL DEPARTMENT AT DAVIS JUBILEE IN ROOSEVLET WHERE SHE ORDERED AND CARED FOR THE HOUSE PLANTS AND MADE BOTH FRESTH AND SILK FLOWER ARRANGEMENTS. JAN SAYS SHE LOVES WORKING WITH PLANTS AND IS HAPPY TO SHARE HER KNOWLEDGE WITH EVERYONE. AS I STRUGGLE WITH MY YARD, I'M GOING TO BE TAKING LOTS OF NOTES. PLEASE JOIN US AND BRING A FRIEND. PEGGY

MARCH 4TH 6:30 "SHAMATA MEDITATION" CALMING THE MIND
GARY MARTIN WILL BE TEACHING A VERY BASIC PRACTICE OF CALMING ONE'S MIND AT THIS THURSDAY'S CLASS. GARY IS A PHARMACIST WHO HAS BEEN WORKING IN THE UINTAH BASIN SINCE JULY 1990. AS A SELF-DECLARED STUDENT OF PHILOSOPHY HE HAS READ MANY WESTERN WRITERS AND BRANCHED OUT AND EXAMINED OTHER WORLD RELIGIONS AND BEGAN TO STUDY BUDDHISM. HE WAS LOOKING FOR A WAY TO FEEL HAPPIER, MANAGE LIFE'S UPS AND DOWNS AND EVENTUALLY DIE IN PEACE. HE CHOSE TO FOLLOW THE TIBETAN BUDDHIST PATH AND STARTED MEDITATING REGULARLY IN 1999. HE MEDITATES DAILY. GARY LIVES IN DRYFORK WITH HIS WIFE, LOREN AND THEY HAVE TWO DAUGHTERS, AMBER AND ALLISON. GARY IS VERY GIFTED IN WOODWORKING AND HAS CREATED BEAUTIFUL PIECES OF FURNITURE.
AS WE ARE ALL BECOMING AWARE OF THE BENEFITS OF MEDITATION, I THINK THIS CLASS IS GOING TO BE A GREAT STARTING POINT FOR LEARNING TO STILL OUR THOUGHTS AND CALM OUR MINDS. THOSE OF YOU WHO WANT TO SET ON THE FLOOR, BRING A CUSHION. SEE YOU AT CLASS AND SPREAD THE WORD. PEGGY
