ABOUT ME

My vision is to provide opportunities to help empower women by offering classes on spiritual wellness, health, finances, relationships and meditation. Through sharing the vast knowledge and kindred spirits of others, along with myself, I know this is possible.

"Many women today feel a sadness we cannot name. Though we accomplish much of what we set out to do, we sense that something is missing in our lives and -fruitlessly - search "out there" for the answers. What's often wrong is that we are disconnected from an authentic sense of self"

FINDING SPIRITUALITY THROUGH HOSPICE

FRIDAY APRIL 2ND 6:30

MY DAUGHTER, AMY IS AN RN WHO HAS WORKED IN SEVERAL AREAS OF THE NURSING PROFESSION FOR THE PAST 19 YEARS. SHE IS A CERTIFIED HOSPICE AND PALLIATIVE CARE NURSE AND PRACTICED IN THE HOSPICE FIELD FOR 5 YEARS. DURING THIS TIME SHE ASSISTED NUMEROUS PATIENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES DEAL WITH THE PROCESS AND ACCEPTANCE OF DYING. WHILE OBSERVING THIS LIFE PROCESS IN OTHERS, SHE BECAMED AWARE OF THE MANY COMMON EXPERIENCES THAT DYING PATIENTS EXPERIENCE. SHE ALSO CAME TO REALIZE THAT THE HEALTH OF A PERSON'S "SPIRIT" OR "SOUL" WAS VERY INSTRUMENTAL IN HOW THEY COPED WITH DEATH AND ACTUALLY PASSED AWAY. SHE SAYS SHE FOUND THAT THERE IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RELIGION AND SPIRITUALITY AND THAT EVEN THE VERY "RELIGIOUS" PATIENTS OFTEN TIMES HAD A DIFFICULT TIME WITH THE DEATH AND DYING PROCESS IF THEY HAD NOT ACTUALLY FACED THEIR SPIRITUALITY.

AMY SAYS THAT WORKING IN THE HOSPICE PROGRAM WAS THE MOST SATISFYING AND INSIGHTFUL OF ANY JOB SHE HAS HAD. IN THIS CLASS AMY WILL BE DISCUSSING HER HOSPICE EXPERIENCES, TAKING CARE OF A LOVED ONE AND THE DEATH AND DYING PROCESS. AS SHE IS TRAVELING FROM OGDEN, THIS CLASS WILL BE HELD ON FRIDAY NIGHT, APRIL 2ND.
